Champions Trophy, especially regarding the official logo

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has confirmed that Team India will follow the International Cricket Council (ICC) guidelines for the Champions Trophy, especially regarding the official logo. This means the Indian jersey will display the official ICC logo, which includes Pakistan’s imprint.

As the team will not be traveling to Pakistan, Saikia’s statement clears up the controversy about india objecting to the official logo. Pakistan is hosting the Champions Trophy from February 19 to March 9, but the Indian team will play their matches in Dubai.
The BCCI secretary has not yet announced whether Rohit Sharma will go to Pakistan for the opening ceremony, which is planned to take place in Karachi. Karachi will also host the first match on February 19. The Indian cricket team has not traveled to Pakistan for any series or tournaments since 2008.
Normally, in all the gobal events, the participating teams follow the ICC guidelines. The ICC must approve the kits of all competing teams. Every team is required to send their playing and training kits to the ICC for approval.
BCCI Refuses To Print Pakistan’s Name On Team India’s Jersey For Champions Trophy 2025.
In the 2017 Champions Trophy, the team jerseys said “England and Wales” because both countries hosted the tournament. In the 2023 World Cup, Pakistan’s jerseys had a logo mentioning India as the host. For the Women’s U19 T20 World Cup in Malaysia, the logo includes Malaysia’s name. Recent ICC media releases for the Champions Trophy also show a logo with Pakistan’s name.
Unlike ICC tournaments, the Asia Cup didn’t include the host country’s name on the logo. Even though Pakistan hosted the 2023 Asia Cup, their name wasn’t on the shirts. The Asian Cricket Council (ACC) chose to remove this rule to keep the logo simpler and not highlight the host country.
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) said they don’t have any information about the issue. The ICC hasn’t made an official statement, but it seems they haven’t received any request from the BCCI regarding the issue or the opening ceremony.
